Well, my dear friends, we often hear from all kind of sources that orang utans are going to be extinct very soon. But, do we know how many orang utans are actually remaining in this world?
In Borneo, it is estimated that 12,000 to 15,000 orangutans are remaining in Borneo (compared to about 20,000 in 1996) and approximately 4,000 to 6,000 left in Sumatra (compared to about 10,000 in 1996). Sadly, experts have estimated that orangutans could be extinct in the wild in 10 years time.
While there is still time, let us do our utmost level to save them :)
